Avenue House Estate Trust: Chair

The Trust is a registered charity that manages Avenue House and its Gardens, the former home of the ink magnate Henry Stephens, for the benefit of the people of Finchley. The House trades as an events venue, whilst the 10 acres of landscaped gardens are freely available for public use, providing a vital leisure facility for local residents. The Trust has a turnover of some £0.5 million per annum, and is in the final stages of delivering a £3million improvement to the gardens, funded mainly form the HLF and the Big Lottery. The Trust is looking to develop and deliver a major refurbishment of the House, whilst developing its activities therein to ensure its ongoing financial stability.

The present Chair’s term of office ends in late 2017, by when he wishes to retire. The Trust is therefore seeking a successor to take over at a mutually agreeable date.
